Richard Schuch is a seasoned operator with over 15 years of hands-on experience stabilizing, managing, and liquidating assets across industries ranging from manufacturing and construction to real estate and service businesses. With a background that spans law, construction project management, and business operations, Rick brings a practical, boots-on-the-ground approach that’s rare in the restructuring world. Whether he’s managing a distressed business or overseeing the sale of complex assets, Rick is a steady hand and a strategic thinker—an indispensable asset when things are on the line.
Jason J. Iverson
Like everyone on our team, Jason's expertise crosses disciplines. For Kali's clients and matters, Jason brings decades of providing IT services to companies ranging from a solo practitioner to 150 employee operations. Most businesses Kali touches need IT consulting, and Jason has assisted receivers in meeting their IT needs for more than 15 years. Kali's strategic partnership with Jason allows Kali to address IT issues in real time, and manage engagements with the same efficiency we bring to every other facet of our work. Jason is deeply involved in non-profit work and committed to creating positive change in his community, leveraging his skills and resources to support various initiatives.
Brian Ellison
Brian Ellison is a Senior Strategy and Business Consultant with over 20 years’ experience. He has been actively involved in various bankruptcy and distressed corporate matters, providing guidance to executive teams, boards of directors and creditors through preparation for Chapter 11, receivership, negotiated settlements and asset monetization strategies. As the former founder of a corporation that led his company through a Chapter 11 sale, Mr. Ellison holds firsthand experience and has proven to be invaluable to clients in helping them move through these processes. His expertise includes:

· Facilitating sales processes
· Stakeholder negotiations
· Claims resolution
· Buyer discovery and marketing
Prior to joining Kali, Mr. Ellison was the President of Preston-Douglas, a strategic consulting group helping businesses navigate complex challenges, delivering strategic insights in branding, product development, and operational efficiency across industries such as healthcare, consumer goods, and technology.
Jane M. Tereba, ASA, CPA, CEPA
Jane M. Tereba, ASA, CPA, CEPA, specializes in business planning and cash flow forecasts, business valuation, and litigation support services. Jane enjoys the dive into financial statements, market conditions, and industry trends. But even more, she appreciates the opportunity to interact with a variety of stakeholders to learn about each client’s strategic position and potential to ultimately see the impact the team’s work can have on clients’ business and life decisions.
With over 15 years of public accounting experience and another 11 years with Capital Valuation Group, Jane is adept at responding quickly to the immediate needs of the stakeholders and the situation. Jane obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Jane is currently Vice President of the Jim B Lemon Foundation, a member of the Audit Committee for the Madison Community Foundation and sits on the boards of the Monticello Foundation and Wisconsin Bank & Trust. Jane is also a member of AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, WICPA (Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants), Leadership Greater Madison 20, and FCG (Financial Consulting Group).
Martin P. Mathias, CPA, CFE
Martin P. Mathias, CPA, CFE specializes in strategic business consulting and evaluation and forensic accounting litigation support services. Marty’s professional experience includes practicing public accounting for more than 20 years at a regional CPA and financial services firm before joining the team at Capital Valuation Group in 2021. A Certified Fraud Examiner with extensive experience identifying fraud in accounting practices, Marty obtained his BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
Marty is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Marty is also a past board member of Canopy Center, Inc.
David B. Mitten, MBA
David B. Mitten, MBA, a financial and business analyst, specializes in cash flow modeling, projections and business valuation, and litigation support services. David’s professional experience includes more than a decade of experience with privately held and publicly traded companies where he analyzed financial statements, forecasted future performance, and advised on paths forward. David joined Capital Valuation Group in 2020 and became a shareholder in 2021. David obtained his BA degree in psychology from Olivet Nazarene University and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
David is a member of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and is a Downtown Madison, Inc. member.
Ian P. Johnson, CPA
Ian P Johnson, CPA is a business analyst specializing in business valuation analysis, client support, and project management. Ian enjoys working with stakeholders to make more informed decisions that support their next steps. Ian’s professional experience audit work at a large accounting firm, where he honed his skills in communicating complex accounting concepts to non-accountants. Ian obtained his Bachelor's in Accounting and Finance from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. Ian is a member of the WICPA (Wisconsin Institute of CPAs)
